I sailed for most of my time during college down at the Mission Bay Sailing Center, starting with sabots and moving up to the J-Boats. My wife and I chartered boats (mainly 36 – 42 ft Catalina’s and Hunters ) for a number of years after we were married, although its been quite a while since I’ve been on a boat.
I’m looking at taking the family cruising BVI or St Thomas or La Paz next year and hate the idea of having a skipper. I’m thinking that by getting back out on the water and building my “Sailing Resume” I could challenge most of the ASA courses and be able to skipper my own boat next year on vacation.
