I’m a San Diego sailor looking to build regular local sailing experience through day sailing and coastal cruising.
My training includes RYA Day Skipper practical training completed in the Solent, UK, as well as a separate night sailing course in the same area. More recently, I completed another week of RYA Day Skipper sailing in Greece as a refresher and for additional time on the water.
My experience includes sail handling, helming, navigation and pilotage, passage planning, anchoring, docking and maneuvering under power, night sailing, and working as part of a crew.
I’m particularly interested in sailing regularly with experienced skippers, learning the local waters, and building more Southern California coastal experience. I’m interested in local day sailing as well as longer coastal trips toward Oceanside, Newport, Catalina, and Baja.
Professionally, I’m a mechanical engineer and experienced team leader. I’m comfortable with technical systems, troubleshooting, clear communication, and working calmly with others. On a boat, I understand that the skipper is in charge and I’m happy to contribute wherever needed.
I’m reliable, physically fit, safety-conscious, easy to work with, and genuinely enjoy being part of a crew. My goal is to build meaningful sea time, gain local knowledge, meet other sailors, and continue developing into a capable and experienced coastal sailor.
